
The State Bank of India PO exams will be consist of three phases. So, the first phase of the exam is the PRELIMINARY Exam, then the second phase of the exam is MAINS Exam and at last the third phase Group Discussion and Interview. But the second and third phase marks are required to make the final merit list of the nominated students.
Phase 1: Preliminary Exam (pre-exam)
The preliminary exam is an objective type exam conducted in online mode. The preliminary exam contains 100 questions with a total of 100 marks from three sections English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. The time allotted for the preliminary exam is 1 Hour; you have to solve all these 100 questions within these 60 minutes.

Point to be noted that all the applicants need to score the minimum marks (which is the cut off marks) to qualify this exam.
Phase 2: Mains Exam
The mains examination is consist of 2 parts:
OBJECTIVE TEST:
Objective Test contains 200 marks with a total of 155 questions. Time fixed to solve the objective part of the mains exam is 3 hours or 180 minutes. Negative marks are equal to one-fourth of the marks which will be deducted from the wrong answers.

DESCRIPTIVE TEST:
The main objective of this segment is to test your English Language. In this test, you have to write essays or letters. The entire time given for this section is 30 minutes and this section consists of 50 marks. Applicants have to succeed this descriptive test in order to be selected for the work. The descriptive test is only for those applicants who have scored the qualifying marks in the objective test.
Phase 3: Group Discussion & Interview
Here comes the last and the third phase for the SBI PO exam after qualifying all the phases which is Group Discussion and Interview. Total marks for Group Discussion and Interview are 20 and 30 marks correspondingly.
